MOXON

Moxon

Invented by Les Moxon, G6XN, the MOXON is a stealthy gain antenna that's inexpensive and fun to build.
It's a great Saturday antenna project especially for new DX'rs seeking their first gain antenna.
This antenna can be mounted on a simple push-up mast and rotated by hand or with an inexpensive light duty rotor.
The Moxon is especially attractive to DX'rs who want to avoid purchasing more expensive towers and rotors and desire a
directional antenna. For their size they're high performance antennas that lend themselves well
to the spirit of experimentation.
No two Moxons antennas are the same! The physical dimensions certainly are, but how the elements are
constructed and suspended varies substantially.
The best place to start is at the beginning, so visit Moxon 2 element.
Performance is what counts! After you build one (try building a small one for 11, 6 or 2 meters) and you'll
agree that based on gain and F:B, the Moxon Rectangle is a superb antenna that is fun to build,
works like a champ and is virtually indestructible. And they're great for portable field operating as well.
They're my favorite antenna for Field Day and a great antenna to build for summertime 6 meter band openings.

Moxon 2 element:

This antenna has a very good F/B and bandwidth (works from 27.200 MHz till 28.600 MHz)

Dimensions 4,0 * 1,5 meter, weight about 1,5kg, gain 5,87dBi.

You can build your own on the frequency you want; download MOXGEN or build according
details below:
Moxon 50 ohm
Design freq:
27,555 MHz
Gain:
5,9 dBi
F/B:
34 dB
Beam width:
77,8 degrees
Band width
1,4 MHz
Wire
1,5mm2
1 & 3 =
598mm
2 & 5 =
3.961mm
4 & 6 =
739mm
distance between
wire 2 &5:
1.444mm

Azimuth Plot ----------------------------------- Elevation Plot on 20m
Elevation Plot on 20m

If you put this antenna on for example 20 meter height, you will be surprised about the results.
Because of the size and light construction this antenna is also ideal for portable use.

Moxon 3 element:
This antenna has a very good F/B and bandwidth.

Dimensions 4,0 * 4,0 meter, weight about 2,5 kg, gain 7,5 dBi.

Elevation Plot on 20m

Moxon 4 element (standard):
This antenna has a very good F/B, bandwidth and gain.

Dimensions 4,0 * 4,0 meter, weight about 3,0kg, gain 8,5 dBi.

Elevation Plot on 20m

Measurements to build a Moxon 4 element:

Moxon 5 element:
Compared to the Moxon 4 element this antenna has one element extra between the two moxon's.
It has a good F/B, bandwidth and gain.
Dimensions 4,5 * 4,05 meter, weight about 3,0kg, gain 9,3 dBi.

Elevation Plot on 20m

Moxon 6 element:
This antenna has a good F/B, bandwidth and gain.

Dimensions 6,3 * 4,0 meter, the aluminum boom is only 4,8 meter, gain 9,8dBi.

Elevation Plot on 20m

Measurements to build a Moxon 6 element:

Moxon 8 element:
This antenna has a good F/B and very high gain.
Dimensions 10,2 * 4,0 meter, the aluminum boom is only 8,7 meter, gain 11,07dBi.

Elevation Plot on 20m

Measurements to build a Moxon 8 element:
This is the Moxon 6 element + 2 extra elements, so you can start
with the 6 element and improve it with 2 extra elements.

Mohon arahanya Pak,
Bagaimana cara perhitungan untuk penambahan dimensi dan spasi driven tambahanya Pak?

Trima kasih,
Ardhi.
